Season Wrap-up: BMX, Dual Slalom and Winter Training

It's the end of 2012, and despite a few injuries during the year, it was a huge success for me.

Dual Slalom:
After training for four months, I won my class at the Sea Otter Classic. This was my first time at the event, and what an amazing experience. Later in the season, I scored 5th in Cat 1 Dual Slalom at the USA Cycling Gravity National Championships. I also faired well at several qualifying events at Beech Mountain and Eastern Tennessee State University (ETSU). I'm most proud of ending my first season in Cat 1 ranked National #1 in Cat 1 30-39.

BMX:
I'm proud of the improvements I've made in the 31-35 Cruiser Class. Both on-track speed and overall stamina are much improved over the beginning of the year. I scored a personal best 4th place finish in the main event at the Disney Cup Nationals in Orlando against some of the best riders in the country. In addition, I finished the season ranked #6th out of 81 in the District (all cruiser riders).

Winter Training:
With the season over, the weight training is in full force courtesy of HD Fit coaching. I'm working hard to achieve my personal race goals for 2013, and look forward to another great season.
